Training
Teaching Blender in Italian Design University
The last few years were very important for Blender, with the introduction of brand new
and impressive features and, consequently, an increased professional usability.
One of the most evident (and good...) characteristic of Blender are its differences from
any other similar tool. This can easily become a significant problem in teaching
Blender as key of a course if students already have experience of other (often
commercial) tools, used in schools.
The Industrial Design courses of Politecnico di Torino introduced Blender in didactics
Blender 3D Modeling and Animation
A showcase of what can be done with Blender including a hands on tutorial on how to get started with the programme, or more advanced features if requested. The main focus will be modelling and/or character animation.
To participate fully, please make sure you have Blender 2.49 installed on your laptop, and check the online programme for downloads to learning resources which will be used during the tutorial. Having a USB stick to share these files is helpful, although time we will get through a lot more if people have downloaded in advance.
Please Note:
A Professional approach to the Next Generation Game Art using Open source application
The presentation would be all about how to design content for next generation game art using the freely available multimedia applications like blender 3D and Gimp. During the presentation I would like to emphasis on production modeling techniques and a proven work flow for creating 3d model assets and textures for next-generation games. Which will also covers the importance of optimization of meshes , how to maintain that through out the production process and how to prepare the game content for Blender Game engine and for other types of game engines.
